The Hanging Tree
The Hanging Tree is a very famous tree in the Mall opposite the Imperial Hotel. It was involved in 1798 as Irish soldiers were at war in the town and when Irish soldiers had lost they were hung on the Hanging Tree. That is why the tree is important. But sadly the tree did not last long because of a Elm tree disease. The one you see today is a new planted one.If you want you can see the tree in the Mall opposite the Imperial Hotel and on the Imperial Hotel is a plaque about soldiers hung on the Hanging Tree.
